Recording in Las Cruces
You have two ways to record with us in Las Cruces: book our studio at 1103 E Lohman Ave, inside The Destination Sports & Arts Complex, open by appointment 7 days a week from 10am to 9pm, or have us bring the rig to your space. Las Cruces is our home base, so a session here has the least friction of anywhere we work: no travel charge, no overnight planning, and a few days' notice is often enough to get on the calendar.

Tracking the Mesilla Valley's Range of Sounds
The Mesilla Valley doesn't have one sound, and our mic setup changes with the music. A desert-rock or punk band tracking loud and live gets dynamic mics built for high volume: an SM57 on the snare and guitar cabinets, a Beta 52A in the kick, and room mics to keep the energy intact. Country and blues players who want detail and headroom get slower, more careful placement and gain staging.
For cumbia and Norteño groups, we mic percussion and any horns for clean separation so the groove stays tight through the mix. Hip-hop sessions are vocal-first: the Shure SM7B through a Cloudlifter for a present, controlled lead. Folk and singer-songwriter work slows down for condenser placement on acoustic guitar and voice, where an inch of mic movement changes the whole take.
The Rooms We Track In Around Las Cruces
Most of the city's recording happens in everyday spaces, and that is exactly what mobile recording is built for. A converted garage becomes a solid live room once we tame the early reflections off bare walls. A high-ceiling living room or an adobe-walled space adds natural reverb that flatters acoustic instruments and vocals. Even a tiled bathroom has a use as a bright, lively chamber for a single overdub.
We read the room on arrival: where the reflections build up, where the noise floor sits, where the drums should go versus the amps. You don't need a treated studio. You need power, a little space, and a sound worth keeping.

What a Las Cruces Session Looks Like
A typical booking is a four-hour block that comfortably covers two to three songs. Setup runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on input count; the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 with ADAT expansion gives us up to 26 simultaneous channels, so a full band tracking live is no problem. Every player gets their own headphone monitoring so the performance feels natural.
We handle mic placement, gain staging, and signal routing while you warm up. When it sounds right in the cans, we roll. You focus on the performance; we focus on capturing it cleanly, take after take.
Deliverables and Per-Song Pricing
Every session delivers isolated multitrack files, one per channel. From there you choose how far we take it. Stems ($50/song) are raw WAVs to mix yourself or hand to any engineer. Mixdown ($100/song) is a balanced, EQ'd, compressed stereo mix. Mix & Master Basic ($150/song) is release-ready for streaming with a five-business-day turnaround. Mix & Master Pro ($300/song) adds detailed automation and multiple revision rounds.
The setup fee is $150 per four-hour session. Because pricing is per song rather than per hour, you are never racing a clock in the middle of a good take.
