The full mobile rig travels to Albuquerque. Nothing gets left behind because of distance. You get the same setup and the same quality as a session in Las Cruces.

That includes:

Multichannel audio interface capable of handling full band sessions with headroom to spare. Multiple microphones, including condensers, dynamics, and ribbons, selected based on your instrumentation and the room. Mic stands, cables, DI boxes, pop filters, and all the accessories that make a session run smoothly. Headphone distribution so every player can hear a mix while tracking. A monitoring setup so we can make accurate decisions during the session.

We also bring acoustic treatment for rooms that need it. Reflection filters, gobos, and blankets can tame a room that's too live without killing the character.

The point is: you don't need to supply anything except a space with power and your instruments. We bring the studio.

Given the travel involved, many Albuquerque clients book us for larger sessions where they want to maximize the day. A full band tracking two or three songs in a 4-hour session. An EP project spread across a weekend. A live show capture at a venue.

That said, shorter sessions work too. If you want to track a single with a small group, that's a perfectly good use of the day. We'll adjust the quote to reflect the actual session scope.

There are established venues, DIY spaces, and a tradition of house shows that keeps the scene connected at ground level. University of New Mexico brings in students who contribute to the creative energy. The city's geographic position, between coasts, near the border, surrounded by open land, gives the music a character that's hard to replicate elsewhere.

A $1/mile round trip travel charge applies for Albuquerque sessions (~225 miles from Las Cruces). This is quoted separately from the session rate so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

For multi-day projects or back-to-back sessions, the per-session travel cost drops since we're already in town. If you know other musicians in Albuquerque who want to record, coordinating sessions on the same trip saves everyone money.
