Rio Rancho homes tend to have rooms that work reasonably well for recording. The typical construction, drywall, carpet, standard ceiling heights, isn't amazing acoustically, but it's manageable with the right approach.

Carpeted rooms cut down on floor reflections. Furniture absorbs mid and high frequencies. A room with a couch, bookshelves, and some soft surfaces is already doing passive acoustic treatment without trying. We work with what's there and add portable treatment where needed.

Garages are popular for band rehearsals and they can work for recording too. The concrete floor is the main challenge. It reflects a lot of low and mid-frequency energy. We manage this with mic selection, placement, and portable gobos. The result won't sound like a treated studio, but it can absolutely sound good. Sometimes the garage sound is the sound. Plenty of great records have that vibe on purpose.

If you've built out a home studio with some treatment, like foam panels, bass traps, or a vocal booth, even better. We integrate our gear with your existing setup and use the best of both.

Before the session, we'll talk through your space so we can plan the right approach. A few photos or a quick description of the room dimensions and surfaces tells us most of what we need to know.

You could. There are studios in Albuquerque. But consider what that actually involves.

You load your gear into vehicles. You drive 20–40 minutes depending on where in ABQ the studio is. You unload and set up in a room you've never played in. You spend the first part of the session getting used to the monitoring, the room sound, the vibe. You're on someone else's clock from the moment you walk in. When time's up, you pack everything back up and drive home.

Or: we come to you. Your gear stays where it is. Your amp is already dialed. Your drums are already set up. You warm up in the same room where you rehearse every week. When the session's over, you walk to your kitchen.

The convenience factor is obvious, but it's not just about convenience. Comfort translates to better takes. Familiarity with the room means fewer wasted minutes adjusting. No commute means you're not starting the session tired from hauling gear across the city.

Mobile recording exists because the best performance often happens where you already play. We just make sure it gets captured properly.

We cover all of Rio Rancho as part of our Albuquerque metro service area. A $1/mile round trip travel charge applies (~230 miles from Las Cruces). For sessions bundled with Albuquerque bookings on the same trip, the travel cost is shared, which means savings for you.

If you know other musicians in Rio Rancho or nearby Corrales, Bernalillo, or Placitas who want to record, coordinating sessions on the same trip benefits everyone. More sessions per trip means lower travel cost per session.
