Recording in Albuquerque

ABQ's range is wide, from traditional New Mexican music to hardcore punk to experimental electronic, plus hip-hop crews, jazz players, folk, country, and rock. The mic plan follows the music. A hardcore band tracking loud and fast gets dynamics that handle the SPL and a setup built for energy over polish. Jazz and folk sessions slow down for condenser placement that captures detail and natural dynamics.

Hip-hop crews run vocal-first through the SM7B and a Cloudlifter, while electronic and experimental artists often need clean line-ins and careful gain staging alongside any acoustic elements. Whatever the genre, the goal is the same: clean capture and an engineer who listens to what the artist is after.

Albuquerque has a strong DIY tradition, from established venues to house-show spaces, and those are exactly the rooms mobile recording is built for. We have the gear to make a rehearsal space, a garage, a living room, or a venue stage work, reading the room on arrival and adapting placement to its reflections and noise floor.

Setup runs 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many inputs you need. Every player gets headphone monitoring, so even a big live session feels natural to perform.

Per-song pricing keeps the clock out of the session: Stems $50, Mixdown $100, Mix & Master Basic $150, Mix & Master Pro $300. The setup fee is $150 per four-hour session covering two to three songs.

Because ABQ is roughly 225 miles from our base, a $1/mile round-trip travel charge applies and is quoted clearly upfront, separate from the session rate. For multi-day or grouped sessions, the per-session travel cost drops because we are already there.
